Though the fact that it is a handbook to being an “original, progressive, and indie liberal” is somewhat ironic in of itself, /The Nation Guide to the Nation/ is nonetheless helpful for anyone living in the US that is looking to find some Liberal culture points of interest – be they radio and TV programs, coffee/book stores, or even political gatherings. It covers people, places, and happenings that are all over the country that carry or support leftist politics and/or lifestyle, and details how and why they do what they do.
Progressive fanatics will find it informative and relevant in the extreme; Hipsters looking to play the part will find it to be their secret weapon of Cool; Political activists will use it as their trusty yellow-pages when looking for recruiting grounds; Conservatives of all types will most likely hate it. Overall, /The Nation Guide to the Nation/ fulfills everything that it is meant to be, and often does so with a quite appropriate sense of humor.

I’m not a leftist, but if I was I would buy this book ASAP. Need to find a lefty bookstore in Northern California? This is your guide. You can find leftist think tanks, TV and radio shows, reading clubs, and many other resources in The Nation Guide to the Nation. No, I don’t know if it’s printed on recycled paper.
